The Wellwisher

¨       Contact the office if you want to be added to the mailing list for The Wellwisher, WUMC’s monthly newsletter.  You have the option to receive The Wellwisher electronically or by regular mail.

Organizational Structure

¨        Curious about the governing organizational structure at WUMC? Contact Terry Heuer, President of the Board of Stewards.

Wallingford Connection

¨       The Wallingford Connection is how the members and friends of the congregation help other members and friends in several ways such as delivering meals, moving, child care, and providing transportation.  Call Ginger Goble if you would like to play a part in the Wallingford Connection or to arrange assistance.

Mail Slots

¨       A good way to leave information or materials for volunteers and leaders is by using the appropriate wall mail slots located directly outside the church office.

WUMC History

¨        To learn more about the history of WUMC, attend a New Member Orientation or check out a copy of 90 Years of our History: 1912 – 2002 in the church library.

Parsonage

¨       Rev. Jim Carter lives in the yellow house immediately south of the church.

Church Rooms

¨       The large fellowship room on the lower level is called Taylor Hall.  The Adult Education room is located at the far west end of the upper floor past the church offices and restrooms.  Children’s Sunday school rooms are located off the two downstairs hallways.

Membership

¨       If you interested in becoming a member of WUMC contact Rev. Jim. 

Annual Events

¨       Some of our annual WUMC events are Homecoming Sunday in early Fall, the Auction, Lenten House-Churches (small groups that meet in homes), Easter Sunrise Service, Advent Spiral Service, Reconciling Service, All-Church Retreat in May, and the Fall Retreat in November.

Calendar

¨       For a monthly calendar of events, check The Wellwisher or the web site.  To an event on the calendar, contact the church office.  The church program and fiscal year is from July 1 to June 30. 

Conflict Resolution

¨       If you have a conflict with others (non-staff members) in the church that you are unable to resolve, call someone on the Resolution Team.  If you have a conflict with staff members in the church that you are unable to resolve, call Patti Colescott, Chair of the Staff-Parish Relations Team.

Child Care Center

¨       The Child Care Center is a ministry of WUMC.  The Pastor and Pam Xander serve on the Child Care Board.  Church members have priority on the entry list into the center.  Contact the Childcare Director for more information at 206/632-3200.

  

How to Get Involved

Worship Times

¨       Sunday worship is at 8:30 and 11:00 AM.  Sunday School is at 9:45 AM.  Summer worship is at 10:00 AM (one combined service).

Service Opportunities

¨        If you want to join a ministry team to serve the congregation and the community, see the Ministry Teams page and call someone on a team that interests you.

Church Choir

¨       Join the choir!  Contact Lou Magor, our Music Director or come to a Thursday evening rehearsal.  All are welcome regardless of experience.

Children and Youth

¨       Please call Kari Olson, Minister for Children, Youth, and Families for information about Sunday School, Confirmation, PrimeTime! (3rd-5th graders), Middle School or High School Youth Groups.

Adult Education

¨       For information about teaching or attending an Adult Education class, contact James Davidson.

Reconciling Team

¨       Are you interested in encouraging diversity in the United Methodist Church-locally and globally?  Work with the Reconciling Team to promote the inclusion of all people into the full life of the church regardless of sexual orientation, gender, and ethnicity. To get involved, contact Tyler Mays.

  

Building, Grounds and Financial Matters
Building and Grounds

¨        If you have a church building or grounds maintenance concern or if you want to help out with maintenance projects, contact Dave Colescott, Chair of the Building and Grounds Team.

Scholarships

¨        If you need a scholarship for one of WUMC’s fee-based programs, contact the program leader or Rev. Jim.

Budget

¨        If you have a question about the church budget, contact Ernie Coffey, the Treasurer; Marie Coon, the Administrative Team Chair; or any member of the Administrative Team.

Reimbursements

¨       If you need reimbursement for an authorized item (one that is approved by a ministry team leader), fill out a reimbursement form found in Ernie Coffey’s mail slot by the church office.

Special Offerings

¨       If you have a suggestion for a special offering, contact Jane Soder.

Donations

¨       If you are interested in bequeathing money to WUMC, call Rev. Jim.
