Children's Ministry

All children 4-12 yrs old are invited downstairs following the Children’s Message for Sunday School.

During Sunday School, a short lesson is presented on the Scripture being taught upstairs in Worship. Sunday School time also includes crafts/activities and free play time. It is a space where questions are asked and encouraged. Wallingford UMC follows Safe Church Policies along with guidance from parents/guardians on allergens and any educational/behavioral needs. We strive to make Sunday School a time that children can build connections and community among their peers. We know that these childhood friendships can last a lifetime during an individual’s religious and spiritual journey.

Additionally, Wallingford UMC recognizes that the church is not limited to 20 minutes in one room. We strive to make all children here at Wallingford UMC feel and be part of the whole community. That can take many forms: participation in weekly worship, special occasions, special outings, etc. On multiple occasions, Jesus included the children around him in his teachings and experiences. Children are to be heard and seen in the Church, and Wallingford UMC believes and embraces that same idea. We, all ages, are in this together.
